Three games took place in the Top Gun Division Two League and despite Cumbria suffering a 20-16 loss away to Bedfordshire, they still remain top of the division two table, with County Durham in second place with a game in hand.
Bedfordshire took an early 11-7 lead overnight, and despite Cumbria’s Women’s A winning 4-2, a second 7-5 result for Bedfordshire’s Men saw them claim victory over the weekend.
Wayne Bloomfield took the match awards in both the A and the B for Bedfordshire, as well as the highest average across the division with a 30.24. Diane Nash secured the highest match average in the Women’s B, with Maria Perrin sealing it in the Women’s A for Bedfordshire.
The highest winning average from Cumbria came courtesy of Darren Armstrong in the Men’s B, with Andy Goodfellow just behind for the Men’s A. Leanne Howard won the match award for Cumbia’s Women’ B, with Crissy Manley (pictured, 22.22) hammering home the highest average of the division for Cumbria’s women’s A.
Middlesex hosted Wiltshire and the home team dug deep to secure an 18-18 draw with the visitors following an 8-4 victory for Middlesex’s Men’s A.
The highest averages of the match were produced by Middlesex’s John Scott (Men’s A) Lisa Brosnan (Women’s A), whilst Frankie Collopy and Vickie Kiely took the match awards for Middlesex’s B team.
Rising star Ella Williams (B) hit Wiltshire’s highest winning women’s average of the weekend, with Tina Rowlands taking the award for the A team. The Men’s match awards went the way of Connor Hughes (A) and Todd Rainsley (B).
Fourth-placed Tyne and Wear travelled to Norfolk, with the visitors running out 20-16 winners. The teams wear tied at 12-12 going into the Men’s A, but an 8-4 win for the away side sealed the all-important wiin bonus points.
Tyne and Wear’s Ryan Hanratty’s (A) 25.92 average was the highest winning average of the match, with the B match award going to Chris Vaughan. Ann-Marie Urwin (A) also produced the highest women’s average for the visiting side, with Florence Kippen claiming the B team match award.
Norfolk stalwarts Stephanie Potter (A) and Sandra Page (B) won their respective match awards, with the Men’s going the way of Richard Stoddart (A) and Aaron Taylor (B).
