Action this past weekend in the Darts Corner National League saw an incredible 180 Women’s matches played out this weekend, with thirty eight women throwing some formidable darts, all achieving a 20+ winning average for their respective National League Organisations.
Starting from one of the very first sets played of the weekend with Hampshire’s Laura Turner picking up a 27.18 in victory over Dorset’s Donna Mabbatt to Cambridgeshire’s Juliet Findley (20.40) and Merseyside’s Vicky Lloyd (21.18) in winning their matches.
These numbers further showcase the ever-increasing interest and progression in the women’s game, with the standard growing year on year.
Laura’s thirteen-year-old daughter, Neve, made her National League debut, embodying the influence of every woman in the county system has played a part in inspiring future generations to play our wonderful sport, which is brilliant to see! The UKDA will continue to help grow the game and provide opportunities for both up and coming and established players an opportunity to toe the oche on stages around England and Wales.
