Commenting on this development:
Nigel Mawer QPM, Chairman of the DRA says “The DRA is keen to join up all darts organisations worldwide under one regulator working to one set of rules. Today’s agreement with the UKDA is another excellent step down that road, we are looking forward to working with the UKDA in continuing to professionalise all aspects of their events”.
Johnny Stefano, Chairman of the UKDA states “Over the last few months there has been ongoing talks between the UKDA and the DRA, much of this work has been done by the UKDA’s Chief Disciplinary Officer Stephen Greenwood to ensure that a positive polarity is achieved between the two associations and I’m delighted that we will now have a professional regulator who are striving to bring all bodies throughout the world under its governance of rules, we now look forward to working closely with them to ensure the UKDA events are the best they can possibly be”.
UKDA Chief Disciplinary Officer Stephen Greenwood added “I am absolutely delighted to have worked with the DRA over the last few months and extremely pleased to have achieved a pathway that now allows The UKDA to move forward under the Darts Regulator Authority, it’s my belief this is a must for any darts organisation”.
