The action continued in the Darts Corner National League this past weekend with two re-arranged fixtures taking place in Division Three.
Third placed Northumberland welcomed Pembrokeshire to the north east and Marie Silk set the home side off to a strong start by whitewashing their Welsh visitors. Despite a fightback from Stephen Castle, Will Evans and the visiting Men’s B team on the Saturday the aggregate score overnight was 13-5 in the hosts favour.
Northumberland’s Phonsowan Whillis (20.88) produced the Ladies performance of the weekend on the Sunday as the A’s settled for a draw, with Angharad Bessant standing out for the West Walian outfit.
The visiting Men’s A team had no answer to a powerful home side, as Northumberland picked up a 27-9 win to move to the summit of Division Three, with their bye still to come in the final round of matches this season.
Bedfordshire travelled across the Solent, to the Isle of Wight, looking to climb up the table, having only played three games so far.
Eddie White stood out for the IoW on the opening day, after the Ladies B drew in their encounter, before the opposition defeated their Men’s B counterparts to lead 11-7 at the end of the opening day.
Star player Ben Hazle (pictured) and Marie Perrin inspired the visitors on the Sunday to a convincing 25-11 win to move up to fifth and return to action with a visit to leaders Northumberland in Round 5 and the Isle of Wight head to Pembrokeshire.
