Women at the Top of Their Game

This weekend witnessed a remarkable display of skill and sportsmanship as Oxfordshire’s Deta Hedman O.B.E. matched the highest playing average this season of Lincolnshire’s Trina Gulliver M.B.E., both achieving an impressive average of 30.06.
Trina Gulliver’s Milestone
Trina Gulliver set the benchmark for excellence in October during Lincolnshire’s fixture with Dorset. Taking the stage first on Sunday morning, she secured a swift 3-0 victory, requiring only 50 darts to complete the match, which included an outstanding 116 finish in the second leg.
Widely recognised for her achievements, Trina Gulliver is a ten-times Women’s World Professional Darts champion hailing from Leamington Spa. Her dedication to the sport and commitment to charitable causes were honoured in 2013 when she was appointed MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list, acknowledging her ‘Services to Darts and Charitable Fundraising’.
Deta Hedman’s Achievement

In a home fixture against West Midlands, Deta Hedman equalled Trina’s average this weekend, completing the third leg in just 13 darts—a testament to her prowess at the highest level.
In 2025, Deta claimed the World Champion title for the first time, further cementing her legacy in the sport. She was appointed an O.B.E. for her contributions to darts and charity, and was presented with her medal at a ceremony hosted by Princess Anne at St James’s Palace in London.
More Than Champions
Both Deta Hedman and Trina Gulliver have not only reached the pinnacle of their sport but continue to excel while dedicating themselves to charitable endeavours. Their ongoing commitment to darts and philanthropy serves as an inspiration to many.
